Bible Society was founded in 1804 by people who believed passionately that the Bible had something to say to the whole world. Because that's remained our vision, we are today sharing God's word with people in more than 240 countries and regions.
We provide Bible study materials and classes to help trainee pastors teach the Scriptures in China, run Bible-based literacy classes for women in Africa, and distribute Bibles to children and refugees in the Middle East who have witnessed the horrors of war.
Here at home, we’re developing resources like The Bible Course that help local churches and people in prison to engage more deeply with Scripture. We’re sending thousands of volunteers into primary schools to share Bible stories with a generation otherwise unfamiliar with them.
