Food supplies for vulnerable children

Global hunger is at an unprecedented level. The UN estimates that 283 million people are now short of food. A combination of conflict, extreme weather, rising prices and COVID have contributed to drastic food shortages.

Among our project partners, APRECOM and LVLE have both commented to us about the extent of food shortages affecting their communities. APRECOM is seeking to provide emergency food for children with disabilities, many of whom are underweight at the best of times, and for children/youth with HIV/AIDS who need good nutrition to take antiretroviral drugs. 

Jean-Paul of LVLE has also mentioned some of the work that his wife Edwige does outside the remit of LVLE. She works particularly with children in extreme poverty and is witnessing multiple deaths through malnutrition.

Please stand with BCT as we seek to provide APRECOM with £2,000 to feed the most vulnerable children in their network, and to help LVLE identify other potential sources of food supplies.
