Appeal for the Democratic Republic of Congo

Story

The Bishop of Reading is asking people across the Diocese of Oxford to donate to support the Church and vulnerable population in DR Congo through the Semiliki Trust and the Congo Church Association.

Donations will directly fund work to relieve poverty, support displaced peoples, promote peace and reconciliation, and improve education and healthcare across the country.

The population of DRC is experiencing a humanitarian crisis, as declared by the United Nations, with 5 million internally displaced peoples, daily civil unrest, rebel violence, and extreme poverty.

The Congo Church Association works to relieve poverty, support refugees and displaced peoples, promote peace and reconciliation, sustain education and healthcare, and relieve poverty among clergy.
