Church Clock Repair
St Boniface Church
Closing date: 10 September 2023
Story
You may have noticed that the St Boniface church clock is not working at the moment. Dating from 1873, it has suffered a major defect in the clock hands control mechanism.
The repair is an involved and costly process. Engineers will use ropes to get to the clock face from the outside, removing the faulty parts in order to take them to their workshop in Cumbria for repair and subsequent reinstallation.
The total cost will be around £3,000, and this fundraising will support the church with the cost of the repairs and get the clock working again as soon as possible.
Please use the donate button on this page to give. If you are a UK taxpayer, please confirm that you would like to reclaim Gift Aid on your donation. This will add 25p to every £1 you give which is reclaimed on our behalf by Stewardship.
If there are any funds surplus after paying for the repair they will be used towards the future refurbishment of the clock face.
