BUILDING A GYM IN RURAL KENYA: 100km Sponsored Bike Ride

The Project

Kenya has a Youth population of nearly 10 million! Nearly 20% of the entire population being between the ages of 15 and 24. With youth unemployment at 22% providing meaningful youth activities that provide purpose and structure for young people is just one way of channelling young people's energy's in a positive way.

I am aiming to raise £15,000 to build and equip a new gym, including basic toilet and shower facilities just outside Kisumu. Developing a new gym would enable more young people to access. The gym will be dedicated in memory of my son Ed who tragically took his own life in Septemebre 2020.

In order to raise the money I am planning a 100km cycle, more than double the length of a marathon!
