Story
Hi! Welcome to my page. I am doing the Watsan walk for water for Bwanga Hill, a community of 876 people, mainly pupils and staff of a secondary school, and a kindergarten.
Currently there is only one small rainwater harvesting tank, which quickly empties. Pupils must collect water from the distant crowded And dirty spring, or even from a stream which is shared with animals, around 800m away. Pupils share one toilet between every 76 pupils.
Watsan’s project is an integrated water supply, sanitation, and education intervention, including a reconstructed spring; three rainwater harvesting tanks; repair of a faulty borehole; 15 new toilets; and an accompanying health and hygiene education programme.
