Thames Walk For Water
A walk from Putney Bridge to Teddington
Closing date: 14 February 2022
Story
Watsan Uganda provides water in the south-west tip of Uganda. It was set up in 2002 by a friend (who was retiring from a top engineering job at Thames Water). The one statistic that grabbed me as a former teacher was that by getting running water and proper sanitation installed into one particular school, better teachers were prepared to work there, the school role doubled and top exam grades trebled. We are now trying to repeat this success in a new project at Bwanga Hill, you can read all about it here: https://watsanuganda.org/projects/planned-projects/.
On Saturday 19th June, I will lead a group of walkers from Putney to Teddington Lock following the south bank of the River Thames for 12 miles. We are doing this to raise funds to finish off this important project that will have a life changing impact on the community, children and teachers at Bwanga Hill. Please give generously, if you can. Thank you for your support.
