Linking Lives in Devon

Story

We are raising funds to work with churches to establish three 3 befriending schemes across Devon. These schemes will provide regular companionship for older people through home visits or telephone calls. They will be established using our award-winning model called ‘Two’s Company Befriending’ which includes training for coordinators and initial volunteers as well as all other necessary processes.

9 million people in the UK feel lonely and often lose community networks, family friends. Many become invisible and overlooked, resorting to the TV as their only company. We believe that the church has a vital role to play in addressing these issues by showing the love of God to to those most marginalised, and enabling people to regain friendships and re-engaging in their communities.
