Kate and the Blister Busters
Kate, Anna, Ange, Sarah, Nina and Laura walk the Thames Path for WATSAN!
Closing date: 14 February 2022
Story
Kate is a trustee of WATSAN, a small charity providing clean water and dignified sanitation to communities in some of the most rural and disadvantaged parts of South-West Uganda. Kate has committed to joining a larger group of WATSAN supporters on an 18-mile walk along a section of the Thames Path in Oxfordshire to raise funds for WATSAN's project in Bwanga Hill.
Kate doesn't really like walking. Last time she did a WATSAN Walk for Water, she got 13 blisters and complained about them for two years. Kate needed help, and so her sister Anna, aunt Angie, and friends Sarah, Nina and Laura have agreed to walk part or all of the route with her.
18 miles is really far, but we recognise that many people in Uganda, especially women and children, walk these distances every day to collect water. So we're doing it to support them and the Bwanga community. This video tells their story: https://youtu.be/UUht8lhzrOU.
