Team Hope’s Changing Communities
HIV/AIDS Education Training project mobilising 300 pastors and other trainers delivering community-based healthcare.
Closing date: 31 August 2022
Story
Eswatini has the world’s highest prevalence of HIV/AIDS despite making significant progress stabilising the number of new infections among adults, which have almost halved since 2011. However, HIV/AIDS remains the country’s top public health concern (pre Covid-19) and its national preventative strategy still seeks to focus on high impact interventions targeting populations and geographic areas where new infections are highest.
Team Hope with its in-country partner, is now seeking to deliver rural community-based educational training in the Lubombo and Shiselweni regions, for year 3 of this 3-year project. The aim of this project is to contribute towards the country’s zero new HIV Infection goal, helping to eliminate the stigma and discrimination that is associated with HIV/AIDS and ending gender based violence perpetrated by men.
