Biking Bishops Biking Mission Fund 2026
We're now in our second year of raising money to send 125cc motorbikes to the Democratic Republic of Congo!
Closing date: 23 December 2027
Story
🌍 A LITTLE BACKGROUND 🏍
Bishop Mark visited DRC in May 2024 and, being a keen biker, was delighted to see hundreds of motorbikes around the Cathedral. 125cc motorbikes provide essential transport for clergy, to help them deliver pastoral and ministerial care, but will also be used to support and enable primary healthcare as they transport supplies as well as nurses and midwives across the region. We're delighted to be partnering with the Congo Church Association who ensure the funds we raise make their way to our partners in DRC - last year we managed to fund 11 bikes; we can't wait to see more on the ground!
Bishop Mark is the Bishop of Chester. The Diocese of Chester partners the Congolese Dioceses of Aru and Boga.
Donating with Stewardship is really easy and completely secure. If you are a UK taxpayer, please confirm that you would like to reclaim Gift Aid on your donation. This will add 25p to every £1 you give. Thanks for visiting!
Raising funds for
I've followed the situation in Congo for decades. Good that they are still being supported by the Diocese. Thank you.
So encouraged by the funds that continue to be raised - here's to the next set of bikes on the road in DRC
