For Ellie each mile driven was a testament to her resilience. But on a fateful trip through Poland, Ellie's loyal 2.2 OM651 turbo diesel engine met its match on a motorway stretch, giving way to a catastrophic internal failure. Rather than leave her behind or scrap her, Julia and Nick made a bold choice. They donated her to a Ukrainian charity with a unique mission: to help the Ukrainian people who are struggling to look after their own people near to the front line.
