We are proud once again to be supporting Remember A Charity Week as a 2025 Charity Champion.

Remember A Charity Week, which this year runs from 8-14 September 2025, is an annual celebration of the power and impact of legacy giving. Throughout the week, partners, solicitors, will-writers, charities and others will be championing the legacy message, encouraging people across the country to help build a brighter future by leaving a gift in their will.

For many people, a gift to a charity in their will is likely to be the largest single donation they will make. But the impact goes far beyond gift size; many charities find that they can plan confidently for the future when they know that supporters have made legacy gifts in their favour.

And it’s great for the donors and their families too, thanks to the generous tax incentives. Charitable legacies are free of inheritance tax. In addition, if you leave at least 10% of your estate to charity, the rest of your estate will benefit from a reduced Inheritance Tax rate of 36% rather than 40%.

There is a great deal of joy to be had from identifying charities that are making a difference in the causes that you’re passionate about and then arranging gifts in your memory. Around £3 in every £10 donated to charity comes through gifts in wills¹, amounting to over £4 billion for good causes each year². These donations make a huge difference and some of the nation’s most loved charities simply wouldn’t exist without such gifts.
