Stewardship is very pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Gillies as a trustee. Chris will become our new Chair of Trustees from June 2022.

Chris has 40 years’ experience of leading, growing and building businesses in the UK and internationally. He is treasurer of The Children’s Society, a church warden of St Aldates in Oxford, and Deputy Chair of Westminster Theological Centre.

Chris summed up his reaction on joining: “Stewardship’s vision for ‘the world to encounter Jesus through the generosity of His Church’ is one that inspires me profoundly. The Stewardship values of generosity, integrity, relationship, excellence and justice resonate very strongly with me. It’s a privilege to represent and serve Stewardship as a Trustee and, in due course, as Chair.”

Stewardship is extremely grateful for Simon Blake’s extraordinary contribution as a trustee over the last twelve years and as Chair for the past three years. Simon has guided Stewardship through a very significant period of growth and renewal, including our acquisition of Kingdom bank in 2019.

Simon responded: “I can only describe my role as Chair of Stewardship as the most enormous privilege. Working with a mission dedicated to helping Christians, churches and charities in active generosity to resource their calling and to make a difference in Jesus' name is a joyful and fascinating way to serve God’s kingdom. I’m delighted that Chris is joining the Stewardship team and serving in this way. I cannot recommend the people and the experience of serving Stewardship’s mission highly enough.”

Stewart McCulloch the CEO of Stewardship added: “Stewardship has been truly blessed by Simon’s ambition for us to thrive and his dynamic leadership. I am thrilled to welcome Chris to continue to build and grow our mission from its solid foundations to be an even greater blessing to those we serve.”

Looking forward to Stewardship’s future, Chris concluded: “The Stewardship team has laid the foundations for future growth. This is an exciting time to join the organisation, as we encourage a significant increase in generosity, stewarded well, for even greater impact.”
