How can I create a personalised “Thank you” message for my supporters?
As a Stewardship partner, you can create a personalised thank you message for your supporters to express your gratitude. Your thank you message will be shown on your supporters' giving confirmation screen after they create a new gift in your support.
This gesture can strengthen your connection and highlight the impact of their support:

Your message content will be displayed consistently to givers whether they’re using a mobile phone, desktop or our Giving App.
How do I start writing my personalised thank you?
In your Partner Account profile you’ll see a new tab called ‘Thank you’. Here, you can write your thank you message in the text field using up to 200 characters. You can also add a video link in the video field if desired.
You can choose for your message to be displayed when somebody supports you with a one-off gift and/or a new regular gift, using the same or different content for each scenario. There is general guidance for this feature at the top of the screen, which you can read before you begin.
Once you’ve added your thank you content, you’re presented with a button to save it.
At any point, if you no longer want to show your message then simply remove the text and/or video link/s that you added to this screen, then hit the ‘save’ button.
What should my thank you message say?
We’d encourage you to make your message personal. If you can, include a general reference to the impact that a typical gift could make, keeping this reference broad as the gifts you receive may vary in size.
When writing a thank you:
- Reinforce your organisation’s vision and purpose
- Position the donor as the hero: 'Thanks to your support, we’re able to...'
- Avoid asking for more support
- If relevant, ensure you have the correct rights or permissions for sharing others’ intellectual property or personal information
For ideas to get you started, read our pre-written message examples.
When creating a thank you video:
- Choose a quiet, well-lit room and position yourself against a plain background
- Smile, look into the camera and speak ‘from the heart’. Try not to rush it!
- Plan what you’re going to say if this helps you
- If you’re using a video, upload it to YouTube or another video sharing platform and paste the link into the video field shown here in your account profile.
YouTube tip: You can save your video as ‘unlisted’ if you don't want it to show up on your channel.
