When will my gift in support of a partner be paid to them?

When you give to support a partner (church, charity or Christian worker), the funds are paid* to the partner’s bank account according to the payment frequency they have chosen, as well as the method of payment you have selected.

When you give 

As there are different ways in which you can give in support of a partner, there are different timings in which funds become available within the partner’s Stewardship account (referred to here as ‘Partner Account’), to then be paid in to their bank account. 

• If you give from your Stewardship account balance: funds will be available in the Partner Account balance immediately.
• If you give using your debit or credit card (including Apple/Google Pay): funds should be available in the Partner Account immediately.
• If you give with Direct Debit: funds should be available in the Partner Account balance two days after payment is taken from your bank. This will be within five working days of requesting the gift.  

When partners receive 

Typically, partners choose to get paid monthly, selecting which week of the month they’d like to have funds paid in to their bank account by Stewardship. They also have the option to be paid weekly. 

However you give, once the funds become available in the Partner Account balance, the partner will receive payment in to their bank account at their next scheduled payment date*, unless the partner has chosen to manually withdraw the funds to their bank account sooner.

For example, your chosen partner might have an arrangement to be paid monthly, in week 1. In this case, we would create a payment out to their bank account on the 1st of the month using the cleared funds in the Partner Account. This payment will be included in our next BACS payment run, which typically occurs every Tuesday and Thursday (except for international partners**) and takes two working days to process, meaning the payment will reach the partner’s bank account on the Thursday or following Monday, respectively.

The process is very similar for partners opting to receive funds weekly. We create monthly payments on the 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd of each month (even if it’s a weekend) depending on which week of the month the partner has selected to be paid. We create weekly payments every Tuesday with partners receiving a weekly payment in to their bank account two working days after the following BACS run. 

*Payments to partners are charitable grants from Stewardship and are subject to our discretion and due diligence checks.

**International partners are paid into their local bank account on a monthly basis when there are sufficient funds in the partner’s Stewardship account to make the payment viable (typically £300+). International partners cannot ordinarily withdraw funds sooner, though this can be requested and is subject to an additional fee.
