How does Pay by Bank work?
Pay by Bank is a secure way for donors to initiate and authorise one-off bank payments directly from their Stewardship Giving Account via a secure link. Find out more: What is Pay by Bank?
There is no setup required to use Pay by Bank, and the guided payment process can be very quick. Follow these steps to get started:
- After selecting to make a top-up to balance in your account, select the option to make a one-off top-up. You will not be able to use Pay by Bank to make or edit a regular top-up to balance
- Enter your top-up amount
- The next screen shows the available funding sources. Select ‘Pay by Bank’ and hit ‘Continue’ to confirm
Next, select your bank from the drop-down presented on the next screen. You’ll then be taken securely to your online banking platform or mobile banking app to confirm the payment upon sign in. Pay by Bank is protected by bank-level security so your bank details and bank sign in information are never shared with us.
Finally, when you see the payment success screen in your banking application, you will automatically be taken to a payment success screen in your Stewardship giving account. Please wait for this payment success screen to appear in your Stewardship account before closing your browser window or navigating to another page.
This outgoing payment will be referenced as ‘Stewardship’ in your bank account. Please note that the bank account details and sort code associated with this payment are our payment providers’ for Pay by Bank only, and direct bank transfers should not be made to this account.
Funds paid into your Stewardship giving account through Pay by Bank will be available to use immediately subject to any internal due diligence checks. Please do not use Pay by Bank for remitting proceeds from Gifts of Shares, as we must reconcile them via a manual bank transfer process for audit purposes.
