FAQs and Guidance
1. What happens if I've forgotten my login details?
If you've forgotten any of your login details, head over to our login reset page. From there you can request a new username, password or PIN. We'll ask for some information to help us identify you and protect your account, so you'll need some account details to hand.
2. What do you charge?
It's completely free to open a Stewardship Giving Account or Donor Advised Fund (Gold Account) and we do not apply any monthly service charges. For these accounts we make a deduction based on the value of any gift you make into your account (plus Gift Aid where applicable). Just like the churches, charities and full-time Christian workers we support, Stewardship is a not-for-profit too. It means you can use your Stewardship account in full confidence that we’re not profiting from your generosity.
3. What happens if the recipient I want to support isn't registered with you?
Over 19,000 churches, charities and full-time Christian workers are registered with Stewardship, but if you find the charitable cause you want to support isn't on our database, you can nominate your recipients online, over the telephone or by emailing our team. We register new recipients every day.
4. Can I get a refund on money that I've put into my Stewardship Giving Account?
Unfortunately we cannot give refunds on gifts already given to Stewardship. However, if a gift has been given in error, please contact us.
5. Can I make changes to my regular giving once it's been set up, i.e. increase the amount or change the date?
Yes, of course. Your giving can be changed by calling us, emailing us or through your online giving account.
6. When do recipients receive donations?
Recipients registered with Stewardship have already informed us if they wish to receive payments on a weekly or monthly basis.
7. How can I close my account?
Please contact our team if you would like to close your account. Please note that your account balance must be £0.00 before this can be done.
8. I am a higher rate taxpayer; is Stewardship able to claim back more tax for me?
Under Gift Aid, Stewardship can only reclaim tax at the basic rate. However, if you are a higher rate taxpayer, you can claim the difference on your personal tax return, or through your local tax office. Tax refunds can also be gifted to charity.
