Global Rapid Response: Partner Charities

Global Rapid Response seeks to raise awareness of the impact COVID-19 has had throughout the world. Through a series of webinars, we invite you to listen to our partner charities informing us of the hardship across the globe and how they are helping communities who have greatly suffered because of the pandemic.


 

A21 Human Trafficking

A21 believe in a world without slavery. Their vision is to end to human trafficking through safe housing, counselling and education. As an organisation they have been working to make a difference for human trafficking survivors worldwide, such as sending care packages to children in Cambodia, providing essential supplies and safe accommodation to survivors and their families, finding suitable employment options for survivors, and supporting single mothers unable to work during the pandemic.

Open Doors

Open Doors work in over 60 countries, supplying bibles, training church leaders, providing practical support, emergency relief and supporting Christians who are being persecuted for their faith. In the UK and Ireland, Open Doors aim to raise awareness of worldwide persecution, mobilising prayer, support and action among Christians. Since the outbreak of COVID-19, Open Doors have been providing emergency food and aid to 100,000 people across Asia. In many parts of Africa they have been supporting Christians facing persecution who have not been given any food or financial aid at this time.

World Vision seeks to unlock the potential of every child living in poverty. World Vision is an international partnership of Christians whose mission is to follow Jesus in working with the poor and oppressed to promote human transformation, seek justice and bear witness to the good news of the Kingdom of God. The Rock Foundation - Zambiri Project

The Rock Foundation was founded in 1986 with the mission to be a Kingdom focused grant making organisation, dedicated to making prayerful donations to individuals and organisations. They were inspired by the work of Gloria and Benjamin Kwashi with the Zambiri Project, where they have adopted 64 children and are providing for all their needs: schooling, food, clothing, uniform and even a health clinic. The next stage of the Zambiri Project is to build hostels to help even more vulnerable children.

The Eagle Project 

The Eagle Project (Associação Águia), a registered charity in Brazil, is run by Cally Magalhães and The Eagle Project team who since 1999 have been rescuing young people from the streets of Sao Paulo, one of the largest and most violent cities in the world. Their focus is now in the youth prisons helping 15-19 year-olds from disadvantaged backgrounds where extreme poverty, abuse, drugs, illiteracy and violence are a normal part of their lives. The team lead workshops in psychodrama therapy based on the principles of Restorative Justice and individual counselling with groups of adolescents who are preparing for their release from the youth prison.
