We’re delighted to share a 40acts School Edition resource to help secondary schools (KS3–KS4, ages 11–16) take part in 40acts during Lent.
This adaptable guide translates the heart of 40acts into the everyday life of a school. Each of the 40 acts is simple, achievable within the school day and suitable for pupils from a range of faith backgrounds. In mixed or non-faith settings, prayers can be used as an optional moment of quiet reflection.
The resource is designed to be flexible. Teachers and youth leaders can use it:
- In tutor time
- In PSHE or RE lessons
- In assemblies
- As part of cross-curricular pastoral activities
Every act includes:
- A short Bible verse
- A brief reflection
- An optional prayer
- A practical in-school challenge
- Suggested pupil reflection questions
From creating “Helping Hands” posters and writing encouragement notes, to thanking support staff and planning micro-service projects, the focus is on forming habits of kindness, generosity and community across the whole school environment.
If you’re working with primary-aged children we have a range of resources available on the 40acts resource page, which can easily be adapted for classroom use. Many of the acts lend themselves naturally to whole-class activities, assemblies or collective worship, and can be shaped to suit younger pupils.
Our hope is that these resources help schools nurture a culture where generosity becomes normal, visible and contagious for Lent and beyond.
