Personal Budget Coach training
Stewardship has developed this training course to equip people who have an interest in helping those in their church and community. It will benefit those who are struggling financially who may be in debt, those
who want to take control through good money management and those
who want the gift of money to work for them and their goals.
Money is our servant and not our master. The one day Personal Budget Coach training is highly participative and will enable you to:
-
Explain to others the benefits of preparing a budget and the circumstances that would require the budget to be redrawn.
- Describe where to find and how to collect the information needed to prepare a budget and identify priority expenditure.
- Accurately prepare a budget from this information and explain why the budget must reflect the life of the family concerned.
- Look for ways that a person could increase their income (including an awareness of welfare benefits and Tax Credits that might be appropriate) or decrease their expenditure.
- Identify the common causes and effects of debt.
- Understand the broad debt advice process.
- Identify situations that need urgent referral and the specialist agencies that could provide help. List the information that the supporting agencies are likely to require.
- A Personal Budget Coach is not a debt advisor and cannot offer advice. The role helps people get their financial information in order, provides support and refers to specialist agencies when this is needed..
