Budget resources

Making a budget is the first and single most important step in getting in control of money. It takes time to make that first budget but after that it is much easier. Some simple advice:

• Use the budget resources below to take this all important first step. You must know income and expenditure to be in control.
• Be honest with yourself about your spending. If you spend £60 at ASDA and another £20 at the corner shop your weekly shopping bill is £80 not £60!
• If you don't feel confident don't put it off. Find a 'budget buddy', someone you trust who can help you prepare your budget.
• We can link you up with one of our trained Personal Budget Coaches from churches all around the country who can help. This ministry is free and totally confidential.
• For Christians giving is a 'code red' priority with all the other primary calls on our expenditure. So you may want to edit the budget spreadsheets so that giving is a red and not a green priority on the traffic light system of budget priorities.
