Managing Money God's Way:
a biblical introduction to money and budgeting
A personal or household budget is an extremely important tool which helps us get in control of our money. Practical help in making a budget is available. But if we don't find budgets in the Bible is there a biblical perspective on the importance of budgeting?
For Christians a budget reminds us that we are managing God's money.Good budgeting is essential if we want to manage well this gift entrusted to us. The biblical word 'Steward' reminds us that we are not just to be in control of money but accountable to God for its use.
The problem with the words 'steward' or 'accountable' is that they don't sound much fun. But a gift is to be enjoyed! The land that God promised to Israel when they crossed the Jordan was a land of plenty, a place of security and rest for the people to enjoy.
Managing Money God's Way is a half day or a full evening training session for churches. It looks at budgeting and managing money from a biblical perspective It uses the story of the Exodus and Israel's entry into the promised land to help us think about money as a gift to be enjoyed, a freedom to be managed responsibly and a blessing to be shared generously.
